Neighbors snitch on the guy next door for a petty infringement, he returns the favor 10x over: ‘KARMA’

We've all learned one critical thing from scouring the Internet for entertaining stories of petty revenge–Never start a feud with your neighbor. While we don't have to be besties with the guys next door, things can quickly turn ugly when there's bad blood on your street. And like the neighbor in our next story, you have nothing but time to get revenge on the folks next door if they do you wrong. All they need to do is wait for an opportunity. 

After getting reported to the city for having his shed 1.5ft too close to his neighbor's shared property line, u/bobby_bakerson was fuming. While he went through the laborious and tedious measures of shifting his structure a couple of inches to the left, his head was alight with ideas of revenge. Almost a year later, opportunity struck! With vengeance on his mind and a tight smile every time he interacted with his snitchy neighbor, he noticed the guy next door building a tall (expensive) fence. It would be a shame if someone were to let the city know that the fence was 2 feet too tall according to city guidelines…

    r/pettyrevenge bobby_bakerson When 6 inches costs hundred dollars worth of lumber. So my neighbor and I live next to a light industrial area. Plumbers, electricians and painters. Good businesses, no problems with them. In fact having a plumber nearby has been great.

    So I put up a small shed to store my lawnmower and tools near our property line. Fussy neighbor calls the county because it is too close to the property line and the county comes out and makes me move it 6". Not a huge deal, my mistake but it was a pain.

    Fast forward 1 year and the neighbor build a new fence 8' tall to block his view of the industrial park. Good idea, but the county says the max is 6' and you need a permit to do so. Came home to him sawing off 2' along a 30' fence. I wonder how the county found out about this major infraction?

    UPDATE & Clarification. I wasn't clear. I wasn't 6" over the property line. The regs say the structure has to be 5' from the property line. My shed was something like 4' 6" from the property line. Also the neighbor has since moved, I have great ones now. We share a lawnmower that is stored in that shed.

My next door neighbor ran out with a bat while in his boxers because he thought someone was robbing me at first. I left a case of beer on his back doorstep the next day.

    Wotmate01 11 hr. ago I do all sorts of stuff for my neighbours. Trim their trees and take the offcuts to the dump instead of throwing them over the fence. I mow to their driveway instead of just stopping at the boundary line. Offer them the use of garden equipment. Just generally do a bit more than a good neighbour. And I've had people ask me why I do it, and I tell them that it's foreign relations.

They'll front you on some nice item, protect you, and help out for "free," but when they need a favor back, you need to help, or they retaliate. Difference in your case is you mean well and won't break their knees if they refuse to do you a favor, lol.

    Also, just because you do your neighbor favors doesn't mean you should feel entitled to them returning the favor. It's a favor. You are choosing to do it to be kind, if yoy expect something in return, it turns into a job, not a favor.
